What is Placemaking?

Placemaking is not a new idea, but has become a focus locally as a way to re-imagine and re-invent our community. The process for placemaking puts community participation at the center of the effort, with the end goal to create quality public spaces that contribute to everyone’s health, happiness, and well-being. Placemaking is one of the three primary ways we fulfill our mission, along with events and special initiatives.

Placemaking is the driving force behind The PARC at Tysons, and is part of our work across the entire county.
