Mural Debut Overview

The Mural Debut at The PARC in Tysons celebrated the completion of the full building mural by artist Rodrigo Pradel. The event was created in partnership with the Providence District Supervisor’s Office, with ArtWhino and the Tyson’s Community Alliance and featured twenty local makers, bakers and artisans.

Attendees also enjoyed an art exhibit from Icebox Collective and had the opportunity to do a hand’s on activity, adding their own creative touches to a large event mural. Finally, attendees had the opportunity to meet Rodrigo Pradel and his team and watch The PARC indoor mural created in real time.

Impact Outcome Areas

Our work strives to support the 10 Community Outcome Areas included in the Fairfax County Strategic Plan (learn how here!). This event links to the Community Outcome Areas in 3 main ways:

  • Culture & Recreation

This event provided a free cultural and recreational opportunity for the entire community with music, food, interactive art, art exhibits, shopping, and giant games.

  • Economic Opportunity

Shop Local Market offered attendees, local makers, and food vendors an opportunity to interact and acquire new customers, with additional marketing support for the twenty local small business beyond the day of the event, with no cost for the vendors to participate.

  • Healthy Communities

The overall goal of The PARC at Tysons is to create a place that contributes to a healthy, vibrant, livable community. This event is also embedded in the Tysons community where neighbors could walk or access public transportation.
