VA250 Commemoration

On Sunday, September 21, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, there will be a joint event held at the Historic Fairfax Courthouse with the Fairfax Resolves Chapter, Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution (VASSAR), and the Fairfax County 250 Commission.

At 1:00 pm inside the Historic Courthouse, The Fairfax Resolves VASSAR will conduct a Commemoration of the 251st Anniversary of the Establishment of the Fairfax Independent Company of Volunteers.

At 2:00 pm, a ceremony honoring the 47 Fairfax County Patriots who served and died advancing the cause of American Independence will take place at the Veterans Monument on the lawn of the Historic Courthouse.

There will be a booklet available for attendees that provides a brief biography about each Patriot on the Memorial. After the ceremony, documents from the Circuit Court Historic Records Center will be on display in the Historic Courthouse.

The Historic Fairfax Courthouse is located at 4110 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, at the intersection of Routes 123 and 236 (Main Street). Parking is available in the lot behind the Historic Courthouse.
