Celebrate Fairfax’s Shop Local Market expands to three weekends in December
[FAIRFAX, VA]-The nonprofit organization Celebrate Fairfax expands their Shop Local Market series to the first three weekends in December. On Fridays, December 2nd, 9th and 16th, the Winter Market will be held from 4:30pm-8pm. On Saturdays, December 3rd, 10th and 17th, the Winter Market will run from 12pm-5pm.
The Winter Market series will be held at Celebrate Fairfax’s community hub, The PARC at Tysons, located at 8508 Leesburg Pike, Tysons VA 22182. The venue hosts over 10,000 square feet of indoor space transformed into a winter wonderland and offers free parking.
Ashley Morris, Celebrate Fairfax’s President, and CEO states, “Our vendors have unique stories, whether they are self-taught artists or classically trained pastry chefs, the entrepreneurial spirit is evident across our region. These Shop Local Markets are an opportunity not only to support small businesses but are also a way to connect those looking for authentic products made in small batches with the makers of the products. It is an interactive, personal experience.”
Vendors include numerous women owned businesses, minority owned businesses and “Made in Fairfax” entrepreneurs. Offerings range from products for pets to art, jewelry, home décor, beauty products, flowers, coffee, gourmet baked goods and ethnic goods and spices. Many small businesses are eco-friendly, organic or use only natural ingredients.
The Winter Markets also feature seasonal festivities for all ages, in partnership with other nonprofit organizations and local groups. Activities also center around opportunities for attendees to give back as part of their experience, including a donations drive, opportunity to make a craft for a local food bank, and donate to Zonta Club of Fairfax for gift wrapping services.
Attendees will enjoy special appearances from Santa and character Queen and Princess sisters, iceless ice skating, and live entertainment on select dates. A full listing of participating vendors and activities can be found on the Celebrate Fairfax event calendar.
