Celebrate Fairfax, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building community in Fairfax County, is excited to announce the launch of a weekly farmers market at The PARC at Tysons. The farmers market will run every Thursday from 12pm to 7pm starting July 27th through October 19th.
To celebrate the opening of the farmers market, Celebrate Fairfax will hold a special grand opening event on Thursday, July 27th from 12pm to 7pm. The event will celebrate National Ice Cream month with free ice cream from a local business, Tysons Creamery, while supplies last.
The market is run by Potomac Farm Market, which has over 20 years of experience connecting communities to local farmers and artisanal food producers. Each week, residents can expect to find seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh cut flowers, and other locally sourced specialties.
Potomac Farm Market owners Casey & Jack Latimer state, “We are so excited and grateful for the opportunity to bring our farm market to The PARC this year! To us, nothing is better than bringing a little bit of the country to the city and offering the community the very best quality, locally grown produce and agricultural goods. We thrive on building new relationships with our neighbors and creating ever-lasting friendships by merging the gap between farmer and consumer.”
Tysons, originally known as “Peach Grove” informally, is now a thriving urban district that blends livability with entrepreneurial opportunity. Within this vibrant residential and corporate community, The PARC is an ideal open-air venue for the farmers market, with hours specifically designed to provide access for all who live, work, and play in the area. The PARC is also metro accessible, located just a few blocks from the Spring Hill metro station on the Silver line.
“We’re thrilled to work in partnership with Potomac Farm Market and host the farmers market at The PARC. The market provides an opportunity to bring neighbors together to connect over fresh, locally sourced food while also supporting local farms,” said Ashley Morris, President and CEO of Celebrate Fairfax.
The grand opening of the farmers market is free to attend. The PARC at Tysons is located at 8508 Leesburg Pike, Tysons, VA 22182. For more information, visit the Celebrate Fairfax event calendar. The farmers market will run Thursdays from 12pm-7pm through October 19th.
ABOUT CELEBRATE FAIRFAX
Celebrate Fairfax, founded in 1981, builds a vibrant Fairfax County community for everyone. As a nonprofit organization, they engage all stakeholders and work in partnership in everything they do. This includes placemaking, events, and special initiatives, with a focus on people, art, recreation, and culture. The PARC at Tysons opened in 2021 as the headquarters of the nonprofit organization, Celebrate Fairfax, and a hub for building community. The space features over 10,000 square feet of accessible indoor as well as The Patio in the front of the building and The Backyard space in the rear of the building. The PARC was designed to transform a public space into a vibrant place, an effort known as placemaking that strengthens the connections between people and places in their community. The PARC is home to a full building mural from local artist Rodrigo Pradel, as featured in the new Arts Fairfax Public Art Locator.
