UPDATE: At 1:15pm Thursday, 9/21, the National Weather Service issued a weather advisory for the Eastern Seaboard, with heavy rain, high winds and low temperatures.
To ensure the safety of all event participants and attendees, this event is cancelled. This event cannot be rescheduled.
We received a tremendous outpouring of interest from the community to participate and attend this event, however, there is a high degree of confidence that the Northern Virginia weather from Friday night until Sunday morning includes heavy rain, high winds and uncomfortably cool temperatures.
Safety is our highest priority for the artists, vendors, community organizations, elected officials, event staff and volunteers scheduled to set up, break down, and participate in the event.
Celebrate Fairfax and the Fairfax Fiesta Committee will compile a digital experience including resources, information, artists and more and share an event guide.
We thank the entire committee who has worked for months on this event, as well as sponsors, performers, vendors, exhibitors, local elected officials and all those who were so excited to attend.
While rain would not have deterred us, the unexpected weather makes continuing unsafe. Please stay safe at home on Saturday. Learn more about emergent situations from the Fairfax County Department of Emergency Management and Security (DEMS) webpages.
